..and more family! (Switzerland)

A weekend away with the whole family (without Marlies and Roger) in Klingenzell!

Ein Wochenende in Klingenzell, leider ohne Marlies und Roger!

Between Switzerland and Germany (Lake Constance)

A Henna Tattoo gone horribly wrong. Finn brakes out in a rash days after the tattoo has disappeared. The rash gets infected and spreads all over his body. Some really strong Cortisone brings the worst of it under control - what an experience!

My beloved Stein am Rhein

Mein geliebtes Stein am Rhein

We visit the "Bad Ragarz 2012" with Bruno and Susann and see some great outdoor works!

Bad Ragartz 2012, traditionell mit Bruno und Susann!

...and our own work of art....

Finn's birthday party, he has to find all his present in the grass with his eyes closed.

Not for the first time, his cake arrives with a big bang!

The last drive with my Dad's one axle tractor through Fischenthal. He is planning to sell it.

Mike's has a go on the "Alphorn".

Mike versucht sich im Alphorn blasen!

...and more music education, Bruno has been playing the "squeeze-box" since he was a child.

Switzerland (with the Grossniklauses)

Spring in Switzerland - wonderful!

Two best friends! (at least most of the time)

Visit at one of Europe's biggest fun park!

Besuch im Europapark!

Michelle, Europamaus, Silvan und Finn

..and living like the American Indians.......

Pushing myself (or my fears away) at the rope-park (climbing up to 14 meters high over obstacles  and racing down on a flying fox). That is probably why children keep one young......
Darum halten Kinder jung!

Egypt

We flew from Geneva to Sharm El Sheik (Sinai Peninsula). Sharm is well known as a diving and party holiday destination. We spend a few days in a charming hotel with a huge swimming pool...

We travel the 400km from Sharm to Cairo by bus, leaving at 1.30 a.m. in the morning

The pyramids of Giza raising up from the fringes of Cairo - fantastic!

The inside of the pyramids is rather disappointing, a very narrow pathway leads to the rather small death chamber. All the treasures and mummies are safely kept in museums around the world (manly the Egyptian museum in Cairo that we visited before the pyramids).

Finn:
Today we went to the pyramids. I climbed up 8 meters but then some policemen came and told me off because you were only allowed 1 row. I thought that the pyramids are smooth but they are not. I could ride a camel.

The view from our hotel room!

Die Aussicht von unserem Zimmer!

Cairo - home to 25 million people!

In der Stadt Kairo leben 25 Millionen Leute!

The Citadel in Cairo

On our second day in Cairo we are treated to a private tour through the town (due to the lack of other participants) which turns out to be a very insightful and interesting experience. It gives us the opportunity to learn about daily life and the current political situation in this big city.

The signs of the revolution are ever present throughout the city and also all over the countryside.  When travelling, our bus is stopped at several roadblocks and we have to produce our travelling visa. Soldiers in tanks with machine guns are positioned along the road and the tourism police guard all those ancient treasures in Cairo.

People in Egypt are gearing up for elections starting next week. Anyone working with tourists is desperate to "get back to normal". Tourists are too scared to visit Egypt and many hotels are half empty. At the same time, we experience Egypt as a very warm and welcoming place and feel safe wherever we go.

On a quad-bike we get to explore the area around Sharm-El-Sheik.

.......and for the more relaxed approach some camels.....never again - but I said that last time and the time before......

I wish a had a motorbike and a few more weeks in Egypt!!!!!!!

.....guess what Finn want's for Christmas?????????? from Santa of course - has nothing to do with us!
